STEP ONE: ALIGN
The first step in your ABC journey is Align. Aligners work by adding constant, gentle pressure to your teeth to move them into shape.
STEP TWO: BRIGHTEN
Now that your teeth are perfectly straight, it’s time to brighten them with Professional Teeth Whitening!
STEP THREE: CUSTOMISE
The final step in your smile makeover journey is Customise, where we use Composite Bonding to create a smile which is full, smooth and even.
The first step in your ABC journey is Align. At the beginning of this step, we’ll take an intraoral scan of your teeth which is then used to create a 3D model. This model then forms the basis of your custom-made Invisible Aligners.
Aligners work by adding constant, gentle pressure to your teeth to move them into shape. You’ll be given several Invisible Aligners during the course of your treatment, each designed to gradually move your teeth into the desired position incrementally.
We recommend that you wear your Invisible Aligners for 20-22 hours per day. This means you’ll have to wear them around the clock effectively; the only exception being mealtimes. Wearing your Invisible Aligners most of the day will keep your treatment time down. Most Invisible Aligner treatments take between 6-18 months depending on complexity and needs. Now that your teeth are perfectly straight, it’s time to brighten them with Professional Teeth Whitening! It is well proven that a bright smile gives confidence, so we make sure your teeth are your ideal shade before moving on to our final step.
At Smiles and Smiles, we offer a whitening system with bespoke trays, as this ensures the best possible results for your smile. Professional Teeth Whitening is a 10-14 day process that involves using a special dental bleach (hydrogen peroxide) to lighten your teeth and reverse staining from things like tea and coffee, red wine and smoking. You’ll take your trays and the bleaching solution home with you, where you’ll use the kit for 30-minutes twice a day until complete.
The bleach used during the process is completely safe and at Smiles and Smiles, we only use the highest grade products. During your appointment, you’ll be shown how to fit and fill your whitening trays so you’ll leave confident and happy with the process.

The final step in your smile makeover journey is Customise, where we use Composite Bonding to create a smile which is full, smooth and even. Composite Bonding is the perfect treatment for fixing imperfections including chips, ridges and gaps between teeth. It’s a non-invasive procedure where teeth-coloured resin is applied directly to your natural teeth. Composite is made of a high lustre resin, that includes strengthening properties like quartz or silica particles. It’s non-toxic and causes no known adverse reactions.
In most cases, Composite Bonding can be applied in a single visit to the clinic and you’ll see instant results! There will be no drilling or injecting during your treatment and it is completely pain-free.
ABC is a non-invasive cosmetic dental treatment, which is a great alternative to veneers while achieving comparable results. Veneers typically require some shaving down of the teeth to create space to lay the veneers atop. None of the steps in the ABC process will harm your natural teeth.

Almost everyone is a candidate for ABC. The only requirements are that you must be over the age of 18 and have an already good standard of oral hygiene and oral health.
The length of time will depend on the complexity of your dental needs, particularly in regards to alignment. Invisible Aligners can take up to 18-months however the typical length of time is approximately 3-6-months. After your Invisible Aligners treatment is completed, the Brighten and Customise parts of your treatment plan can be completed in about 3-weeks.
At the end of the Invisible Aligners treatment, you will be given a set of nighttime retainers and we recommend that you wear these every night. This will stop your teeth from moving back to the position they were previously and ensures the alignment can rest for many years. Composite Bonding can last for up to 7 years if you take good care of it and avoid habits such as nail biting, drinking lots of tea and coffee and smoking.
